History_
The roots of our business stretch back to the 1930s in southern Iraq. The Al Khashlok family belongs to Banu ‘Omer, part of the dignified Rubai’a tribe, which has a presence from Basra in southern Iraq to Mosul in the north.

The family initially worked in several fields of trade, starting with grain and livestock, then expanding into food, mainly dates, a delicacy in Iraq. Building on local success, the family began exporting goods to the states of the Persian Gulf and the Levant.

Decades of innovation, modernisation and expansion followed and the family began to expand into real estate and construction, in Iraq to begin with, and then overseas. It is real estate that remains at the heart of the Al Khashlok Group to this day, flowing from the family’s fundamental belief that there will always be value in your land and in your home. Since then, the real estate portfolio has grown exponentially throughout the globe.

Diversification brought new industries, fresh opportunities. Automotive developments and manufacturing in Basra and throughout southern Iraq, importing steel, creating window screens.

Real estate, remains at the heart of the Al Khashlok Group to this day, flowing from the family’s belief that there will always be value in your land and in your home.
